Transition Leadership Consulting

Interim Executive Leadership  |  Strategic Planning |   Start-Ups and Mergers

Having experienced and managed many executive, senior staff, and other organizational transitions in institutions both large and small, Terri Gehr established Gehr LLC to provide transition leadership services to non-profit and public sector boards of directors and executive leaders in growing, evolving and/or challenging environments.

Focused on helping organizations set up for continued success, Gehr LLC provides consulting services for interim executive leadership, mergers, and start-ups.

In cases where there is a gap between an outgoing and incoming executive leader, an independent, experienced interim chief executive offers an organization the ability to:

  • Continue operations with a steady presence in a leadership role

  • Avoid the rush to hire a new executive

  • View the work through the lens of a fresh and objective perspective, and

  • Identify opportunities that can strengthen and position their business and its new leader for success.

Start-up and merger situations can also benefit from interim executive capacity to situate a new opportunity within an organization or partnership, laying groundwork that informs future leadership needs.

The tenure of an interim chief executive varies depending on an organization's circumstances. An executive search process may require a 6-8 month interim executive tenure, while a more significant period may be necessary if an organization needs essential retooling before it can successfully attract a permanent executive.

Terri's other services include transition planning, strategy development and alignment, and  executive recruitment, on-boarding and coaching.

Gehr LLC is based in Columbus, Ohio.
